With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow

This is a continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #821

Martha:
You call it a controlling power and I realize that is such an incredible statement because when I get worried and fret, I’m no longer in control of my thoughts and I will be run over like a truck runs over you. If we don’t understand the darkness behind it…This is what the greatest strength of this booklet is is you are unwrapping the delusions and the sins and the different aspects that are affecting us as anxiety. I talking about it but you make it simple.

John:
It is simple. You have to read the book and find out why it is simple.

Martha:
I have read it all except for the last page. I’ve got to go back and read it again because it’s so powerful it took hold of me. Somehow, I recovered it when I was trying to go sleep at night and the next day, I was unusually free. I don’t know how to say it. I was free!

John:
You had peace.

Martha:
I had peace, yes. Shalom! Tell me the definition again of Shalom.

John:
Break, destroy the authority that binds us to chaos. There’s another way of saying it: Shalom is the power to destroy the authority that causes chaos. That’s exactly it.

Martha:
It is a power. We have authority over the power. I wonder, I just wonder how we can help each other. How can we help each other if we all agree that we need to dispel this overpowering evil that has us captured and robs us of peace and destroys. Authority means you have authority to destroy. I believe the enemy’s favorite tool is anxiety. Do you?

John:
Yes, it’s really strong and I think that what we do is what you’ve done with me. You came into my life with a peace, an overwhelming sense of peace, calmness, and safety and you transferred, you imparted, living impartation, you imparted peace; you imparted His peace, His shalom into my life so that chaos could be dealt with. I think that once we conquer anxiety as the source and our faith then we will become as we turn ourselves over, we will become a beacon of His peace. That’s what we need. People are looking for peace and we will become a beacon of that peace. We will literally impart that. We will literally transfer that to others. That’s the ultimate call here is to transfer that peace, that shalom and be that beacon for a world that’s in chaos.

Martha:
It leaves you with a solution that’s enticing and possible. That’s an incredible statement, John, that we can spread it. We can acquire it, the peace of faith. You are connecting always with faith. That’s the only way you get out, really, isn’t it John? You have to come to faith in God as God; truly God.

John:
There has to be a controlling force, again like the sheep up on the hillside. There has to be a bigger force controlling us than our fear.

Martha:
You have given me a vision of the possibility of the spread of this beautiful things called peace and we can spread it to others. I really didn’t comprehend that, John.

John:
And is this season in our life and in our world not the time that it needs to be? There is so much chaos. There is so much unrest. There is so much uneasiness. There is so much anxiety and so much fear that we need to be the source of that love and peace.

Martha:
That’s awesome, John, because if we could spread it as you’ve just suggested and we know the power of impartation… When you have received Christ as your savior, the Holy Spirit says, “Be a light on the top of the hill. You are the light of the world.” We can’t be the light of the world… That’s a picture of the imparting of peace.

John:
Absolutely because anxiety dims our lamp. It’s putting the light under bushel. The bushel is anxiety; it’s capping and extinguishing and preventing people from seeing our light because we are in false faith; we are in anxiety.

Martha:
Well, John, at the end of it you say, “His best is His life not mine.” You weave in here this incredible revelation you have of the exchanged life and your book is The Great Exchange and that book is actually the way to peace; to let Jesus have it all.

John:
I’ve woven the sovereignty message in here-The Sovereign Touch. You have to know that He is sovereign over the things. Both books are elements are woven into this.

Martha:
The solution is delicious.

John:
Delicious is a good word for it.

Martha:
When you realize there is something you can get your hands to, get your mind to, your will, your heart to to know that you can be helped and you have a responsibility and a work to do to bring it about. Be anxious for nothing. That is the command. I think I have read it and gone on all these years and I need to stop and listen and be still and let it take hold of me that there is hope, there is promise, and there is the presence of the Holy Spirit to lead us through it. It’s a great, thrilling…It becomes a celebration, a possibility. That’s what you said this message is. It’s a celebration. You said it before we opened our mouths.

John:
That’s what I do see.

Martha:
This can be your celebration because you can get the revelation in this booklet, this small booklet and began a journey of recovering your own being, your own identity that anxiety destroys. It destroys you, it destroys your personality, your individuality, your uniqueness, you power to live and exist.

John:
We do. We known it cripples us and does overshadow our personality and our joy.

Martha:
Above all, John, we need to plead the blood as our confession of sin. Make it sin and you can defeat it.

John:
I do, I went right into that and I do leave at the end a prayer to leave anxiety. I love it! There’s renouncing and the solution. Yes, it’s all in here.

Martha:
I want to buy fourteen dozen copies please!

John:
I will give your fourteen dozen copies.

One Response

  1. Helen Whaley says:

I kept my anxiety as secret as I could…I fought it…I wanted to do better. “Anxiety is fear but also control.” The depth & simplicity of these insights uncover the delusion & sin in anxiety. I was so used to its undercurrent I took it as part of life. It takes the Holy Spirit to read this book…HE in it set me free! A CELEBRATION indeed! The Garden Lie of independence is that I can make ‘me’, ‘the measure’; a false measure, void of Christ, & bringing anxiety. The root of this evil is where all ‘better than’, ‘my way’, comes from. There’s One True Measure…Christ, living His Life in us. Once when anxiety had me ‘all over the map’, Martha said to me, “Nothing’s changed”. It was Shalom…nothing’s changed with the unchangeable ONE. Anxiety is sin…repentance went deep through this freeing message. The last pages burst the barrier! “We stand for this choice: My life will be only Your Life Jesus.” What a call…to be a beacon of Shalom! Thank you for these full of Life podcasts!
