Niagara Evidence Of God’s Love
Episode #323

With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
Special guests: Don and Carole Nelson

(Carole) Humanly, in our human nature, I believe that we believe that love is having total and complete control. And that’s what Real Love, His Love, is the antithesis of that, because it is a call to lose all control.
(M) Exactly.  And see, I’ve not been on the end of it that so many have, because when I came to Love it was on the ground of desperation. And He did come in like a Niagara, but it was welcome; so I don’t know what it’s like to be, to meet Love another way, through, through someone. But….
(Don) It’s devastating. It is devastating, because you represent…  I know, I share it all the time, but that love through you is uhmm, I don’t know how to even… It is devastating because it is so unpredictable, and you do not… It is Martha, it is. Well you just… I’m on the other end.  You just said give me somebody on the other end, that’s me. And I’m, and I’ve said it before.  That’s the only thing that’s kept me, ok? And keeping me, that love that you have, you… It is unpredictable.  It can be harsh.  It can be very comforting. Uhmm, there’s a real peace about it, but there’s a awesomeness that comes through that.  It’s unpredictable.  Through you it is unpredictable. You don’t how the love comes at you, but you begin to understand some of that, but no, you, you have only kept me through love. And I know that. You know the thing you did this morning, and I’m going to have to mention it, but I read that and I thought, there is so much love in this, even though we’ve talked through it, but I thought, that’s all I saw when I read it.
(M) Awww.
(Don) It just bubbled over with this love that it was just…  You can present, you can present the worst of circumstances in a very comforting and loving way.
(Carole) You know the scripture that comes to me is when Jesus said, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me,” and what you lift up is the vision, His vision. And when His vision is lifted up, it’s full of grace, it’s full of love, and it draws us to Him.
(Don) Amen.
(Carole) Not to ah, not even to the vision.
(M) Umhmm.
(Carole) It draws us to Him.
(Don) And that’s because we know where the love comes from. See? We know where the love comes from. You can’t push it aside, you can’t hide it, you can’t disguise it, you can’t do anything with it. You know where it comes from, and it’s just awesome, Martha. It’s…
(M) Well, you can’t imagine how I try to subdue it, because the power of it within me is demonstrative. It’s, it’s ah… Paul said, I pursue you with love, and I have to, I keep it, I try to… But it can’t be…
(Don) I can’t see that. I can’t see… No, it comes out in the levels and the flow that Jesus wants it represented through you. There’s no way, you can’t, no, I don’t buy that. (Martha laughs.)
(J) It’s real easy to have Teddy Ruxpin and, and Muskrat Love. You know what I’m talking about? That little, nice little containable love where it’s a stuffed animal or some little love song that Captain and Tennille…  shows how old I am. (Martha laughs.) But that’s real, that love is ah, is safe. Teddy Ruxpin’s real safe.  He just talks to me on my little bed, and you’re Muskrat Love where its, you know, little sweet song. But it’s a totally different deal, where it’s the, ah, love that wants to possess, the love that wants to consume us, absolutely, that’s the word, Carole, consume. The torrent. See, when you look at it as compared to the Niagara, this is not this is not placid and sweet, like a little fountain with a little cupid in it. This is a terrible, terrifying water-flow and source.
(Don) Which helps us to understand that love comes in many forms and shapes and sizes. It is how you represent it through the Holy Spirit.
(Carole) There are, I have no idea the exact number, but there are millions and millions of people who come to watch and look at these falls every year. And that’s what we can do.  We can look at it.  We can admire it.  We can say, wow, isn’t that wonderful.  Isn’t that awesome, and and isn’t that magnificent, and never get in it.
(J) Like the boy you were talking about next to the river, that watched all the kids going down, the tubing, stood on the side of the river, watched them, and then talked about it afterwards as if he had done it himself; well it’s one thing to look at this, it’s another thing… Let’s see which one of us would be hopping in the top of there and flying over the edge of it.
(Carole) Well I’m not, but I can sure learn reams as the Lord gives us object lesson of it.
(M) But see, the, the purpose of the existence of this river is to represent God’s Love.
(J) This was made by God to display His greatness and love.
(M) Yes, and if two out of sixty-five thousand million get it, He’s satisfied. He’s made, He’s made a picture of His love.
(J) And we’re going to pass it on to a number of other people on this podcast.
(M) Yeah, yeah.
(J) So again I say, may we be taken over, absorbed by the torrent of love.
(M) Mastered.
(J) Mastered by the torrent of love; and display the torrent out of my vessel, and out of our vessel, and as the Bride, and as the One Who created this thing in the first place. Can we be those vessels of love, and don’t tell me how I’m gonna flow. Nobody tells this thing, ok yeah, we’re gonna do some blowing up here. But who’s gonna tell this thing, but God, how, when, where?
(Don) Nobody.
(J) Nobody. Absolutely nobody. And no one’s gonna tell me how that love’s gonna come, because I’m not the source of it.  I’m just the vessel it’s coming out of.  I’m not gonna even tell God how it’s gonna do. I could say no, but God help me if I do.
(M) Exactly, that’s what I was about to say. You can say no, that you will not be a vessel of love,  or you will not be a vessel of love here?  No, you do and you lose Him.  You perish in the love instead of letting the love take you over.
(J) Go stand down there and put your mouth underneath there and say that you’re not gonna ‘puggghh’.  It’s going’ through you.
(M) If you get in its way, you’re done. I don’t think we see His love as that powerful. I think we really and truly see it as weak and unable.
(Carole) Whew..  He is making Himself known. He has made Himself known through Niagara Falls, for us, to know Him in the power of His resurrection. Let’s get the Amplified.
(M) Yes it is! Here it is! ‘Woo-hoo’! Phillipians 3:10, “That I may progressively become more intimately and deeply acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders (John interjects: absolutely) of His Person more strongly and more clearly, and that I may in some way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection which it exerts over believers.”
(J) Exerts.
(M) Exerts.
(J) That’s not, that’s not a passive word.
(Carole) And I’m looking at “And that I may so share His sufferings, as to be continually transformed.” To, to be, to be, ah, captured and consumed by this, ah, force, you will incur suffering.  You will die.  You will die! You will either drown or get beaten to death. Seriously. And what the outcome is going to be is “transformed in spirit into His likeness even to death, in the hope that if possible I may attain to the spiritual and moral resurrection.”
(J) “For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God Himself has shown it to them.” (Ro.1:19-20) So how, how did He do this? “For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power an divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made, His handiwork, so men are without excuse, altogether without any defense or justification.” So if you stand at the base of this Niagara Falls, it doesn’t matter if you’re on the American side, or the Canadian side, if you can come here and you can look up at there and say there is no God, God help you. But not as a judgment.  May God help you. May God make Himself known to you, any who can stand here and say there is no God, may you be swept by the torrent of, of the Living God, so that you may see Him, and that you may come through Roman’s one, and that you may be freed from the complete inane thoughts of man that there is no God. This, how could you say there’s no God?  Knowing the smallest thing, from a finger tip being cut off and having it grown back, to the torrents of God’s love in water displayed before us, I’m just…  May love, and may His clearly discernible and eternal power and divinity have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made, His handiworks. Hallelujah!
(Carole) Amen. Jesus is Lord! Yeahhhhhh!
(M) You know what you just did?
(J) What did I do?
(M) We put our feet on Niagara Falls for God….
(Carole) Yes, oh yes, ohhhh!
(M) To be revealed. We went down there, and what you’ve declared now is the proclamation (Don: Yep.) that that falls is God and the presence of God.
(Don) Hallelujah.
(M) And that people will be changed when they go there.
(J) And that’s because that’s what He wanted to say through me, (M: Obviously.) through my form and through my shape, He wanted to say it. He had someone else come over, not that I’m the only one, not that I’ll be the last one.  He wanted to say today through me, and I got that opportunity. Hallelujah!
(Don) Amen.
