Episode #753
5/09/2021
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #748
Love covers over all wrongs. Love covers over a multitude of sins. Love covers all offenses.
John:
I know that we will come in this country to an era that literally you will have to look at someone and know by the Spirit who they are.
Martha:
John, I’ve had a number of people come in my life that I had a check and I didn’t follow it.
John:
Right.
Martha:
We can’t afford it.
John:
I think that it’s becoming our vital necessity that we…And it’s not you’re going in to judge.
Martha:
No.
John:
You’re going in to listen!
Martha:
It’s going in your spirit. I had a friend, young man, that I mentored for a while and I knew he was dangerous. I knew that he was dangerous. He seemed to hear me and I would talk to him on the phone and talk about Jesus.
And my daughter called me one day and she said, “Mom, I don’t know this guy. I don’t know anything. But you’ve got to get him out. He can kill you.”
Eventually God got him out. But he became under suspect of being a person, not anyone with us or near us, somebody really long distance away, that he was suspected of beating middle age women and leaving them. He was suspected of being one who was doing that all over the city.
John:
And I knew that he had potential of doing that.
Martha:
You got it, too.
John:
I did.
Martha:
Yeah. But I was called.
John:
You were.
Martha:
I wasn’t afraid.
John:
Right.
Martha:
I kept and it was on the phone; most part.
John:
But you followed the Spirit in it.
Martha:
Yeah.
John:
And when we first met him, I looked at you and I was like going, “This one’s…
Martha:
“Do you get it?”
John:
…a shark. You know that, right?” And you were like, “Yes, I do.”
Martha:
And we even had a very credible, very real person call us and warn us.
John:
Absolutely.
Martha:
And they said, “Does Martha know…?
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
…who this is?”
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
“We don’t have him in our home.”
John:
Right, right, right.
Martha:
You said “Yeah, she knows.”
John:
She knows. And so, in that, ok, you can’t just say, “Oh, well I know this person’s wrong and I know this person’s off. You followed the Spirit.
Martha:
And I loved him.
John:
You see that’s the vital necessity is that we will walk in this earth, on this earth listening.
Martha:
And you know, John, over some fifty-five years now with the Lord, a great number of people coming and going through my life I’m amazed that the most evil people that have been in my life I loved dearly.
John:
I think that’s the grace of God.
Martha:
Love is a protection and being in the will of God.
John:
Yeah, but I think it’s the grace of God.
Martha:
The grace of God.
John:
I think the grace of God that He has shown…You basically, I’ve seen you, I’ve witnessed it for twenty-five years, you’ve gone into people lives and you give them every benefit of the doubt and the Lord gives them every opportunity to come and then they chose no or chose yes.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
But you…It’s like the love is the defense of God and it’s God reach, God’s continually reaching. He was reaching for, even though Jesus was chastising the Pharisees, it was a reach. He was saying, “Come.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
But see I consider my weakest place is discernment and it is. You and others discern far better than I do. But my spirit knows in spite of me.
And, you know, I learned long ago, some years ago that they were training children to pay attention to the instincts about people. If you get a caution in your little heart, don’t go with that person. They were training children to help themselves by teaching them to have instincts, intuition. Intuition is something, we’re so intellectual we don’t value intuition, we don’t develop intuition but we really need to have it especially Christians by the Spirit.
And I knew by the Spirit something that I normally don’t feel like I would see, but I knew by my spirit and it was perfectly clear and I didn’t have any argument with it. I mean it was like, “A murderer! Oh, yeah I know.” That’s not me. The little scared rabbit doesn’t say that.
John:
It’s like God gives the opportunity…
Martha:
Grace, that’s what it’s called.
John:
…and the grace. It is, it’s grace and the opportunity to so that when they stand before Him, they can never say…
Martha:
You didn’t…
John:
“You never sent me anybody. You didn’t tell me anything.” No, you’ve been sufficiently told. You’ve been loved in your evil. And you turned your back on it.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
So, it’s…
Martha:
It’s fascinating.
John:
It is fascinating!
Martha:
It’s going to be a fascinating time even if it’s terrible.
John:
But we’ll have to know each other.
Martha:
Yeah, YES!
John:
We’ll have to know each other.
Martha:
There has to be a trust that is valid. Jesus didn’t entrust Himself to any man or knew what was in a man. And I haven’t always understood how to do that or what it even means.
John:
Right, me too.
Martha:
And people come through, John. People come through.
She’s gathering scriptures here. Jacquelyn handed me her iPad.
Love covers over all wrongs. Proverbs 10:12. Love covers over a multitude of sins. I Peter 4:8. Love covers all offenses. Proverbs 10:12.
That is a jewel box, Jacquelyn. Thank you. Would you email that to me? You did that just sitting here listening?
Jacquelyn:
Yes.
Martha:
I should have let you read it. haaa
We thank You Lord for giving us the victory as conquerors.
I know y’all have that card, don’t you?
This is something every interesting. I asked you to read Romans 5. It’s long. This is a list. Well, it’s just set up in such a way that it is a list of what God has given us and I highlighted in red what God…
We have been made right in God’s sight. We have peace with God. Because of faith we have undeserved privilege where we now stand, we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
It goes on to endurance. It’s got an endurance deal in there which is really rich.
For we know how dearly God loves us and He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
It’s the whole chapter. And I’m going to finish it. I only went through 11 of all the things He has given.
We have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son. Wonderful new relationship with God.
All that just laid out there.
So, do you feel like He’s giving us treasure? Do you feel like we’re being specialed, that we’re just special and delightful to Him and He’s telling us His secret?
It’s amazing isn’t it?
