Faith to Live in Our End Times
Episode #735
01/03/2020
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #732
Whether we’re living in the last days or just our own end times, we give thanks to You, Lord, that we’re living at this time in history.
John:
I take my faith and I speak it.
Martha:
Yes, yes.
John:
And, you know, something? Whether this is the end times for everyone, for all of humanity or if it’s just our end time. This…I am in my end times.
Martha:
Yes. I am, too.
John:
You are in your end times.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
We are in our own.
Martha:
Exactly.
John:
Every single one of us no matter if you’re twelve years old or eighty-two years old you are in your end times.
Martha:
Um hmm. Exactly.
John:
And so you have to prepare as if you were in your end times because you are.
Martha:
Well said.
John:
There’s one, this is one go.
Martha:
Um hmm. This life.
John:
This life and this is your race and you have been chosen to be in this time during this season.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
I wasn’t called to live through WWII. I was, I wasn’t born then. I…They were called to live through that and they were victors in that and they ran their race then. I’m called to live through this one and everyone that’s listening to this podcast you are called to live in this time and run this race. This is your chosen race by God. This is, this is how He wants you to run this race. He…This is the environment He wants you to run it in. And, and to refuse it because it’s too difficult or it’s too hard or it’s…
Martha:
I’m tired!
John:
I’m tired!
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
It…
Martha:
And here’s where the warfare comes. The warfare comes to your mind with thoughts that are opposed to this. And you have to, that’s where you have to fight. You have to fight and endure at the same time; and believe.
John:
I can confess that I, you know, I have had moments not just during this whole political thing, I’ve had, I’ve had seasons in my life of, of running my race that I’ve just been like, “I just want to die…”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
“I’m just, I’m done! I’m just ready to die.”
Martha
“I’m at the end of myself.”
John:
“I’m at the end.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And then I look to Him and He gives, He blows on me. And I have, I have them the quickening of my spirit to go forward.
Martha:
Yes.
John:
But I, I can’t tell you I haven’t and I can’t tell you within the last year that I have not had moments that I said, “I just want to give up. I’m, I’m just done. I’m so completely done.” And I take it to Him. And I go to Him and I say, “Listen, this is where my heart is. I am exhausted. I’m tired of this. It’s, it’s, it just seems endless, it seems…”
Martha:
Futile, it seems futile.
John:
It does. ! “And so either You have to move or let’s just do it. Let’s just get rid of it. Let’s just end it.” And every single time “phewww!” Ok, there it is. Ok it’s breath. Ok. And, and I’ll have…He’ll give me something. He’ll give me something to hold on to in faith and hold on to Him. And so, I understand.
Martha:
We’re living, really, in adventure. It’s, it has other names that are not as interesting as that. We’re, we’re in a trial.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
We’re in a crucible.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
We’re in a testing.
John:
Yes.
Martha:
We’re in a wilderness.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
And we’re in an anointing.
John:
Um hmm. And I said, you know, I said the other day on the, on the blog we have to fight. And someone commented and said, “Well are you, are you saying that man can take something away from me that God has given me.” And I said, “No, I’m not saying that at all. I don’t believe that. What I believe is that I can give it away. I can give away through unbelief…
Martha:
Um hmm
John:
and that is the temptation continually to, to cause me to.”
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
enter I believe…
Martha:
And I have to always remember that there’s an enemy behind that temptation.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
And I sometimes I’ll just say, “I throw you off everything. Get away from me.”
John:
Right.
Martha:
And we, we used to say every day, “We declare that the works of the devil are destroyed.” Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.” Hebrews 3. And that, to begin your day with that declaration is to be ahead.
John:
Right.
Martha:
So we’ve got some clues maybe we’re giving to help others. But you have to…
John:
I understand it’s difficult.
Martha:
Um hmm. Every life is.
John:
Every life is difficult.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And, you know, I hear things from people and it’s, it’s difficult. It’s, it’s painful. There are situations that, that are beyond.
Martha:
And there’s incredible suffering…
John:
Yes.
Martha:
…in the middle of all this.
John:
Yes.
Martha:
No matter who you are.
John:
We’ve had, we’ve had friends who have had their spouses die and we’ve had…You know, I heard from a, a, a lady today who her husband’s now gone for the third surgery and has had like, I think she said sixteen stents put in, into his heart. He had a heart attack and this has all happened since October. And this is a time that you really wouldn’t want that to happen. You have to go into a hospital and you don’t know, you know, if the plague is going to get you and, and you know…I, I. The whole thing. There’s, there’s just so much pursuing our standing in faith and our, our being who we are. And um…
Martha:
And it’s making us…The only solution is more and more dependence on Him. We are brought to weakness, to feel weak, and to be weak and to know weakness and that is supposed to make us say, “Ah, just lean on the Lord more.” We’re, we’re being actually stripped by the cross so that He will increase and we will decrease. But our faith is a matter as it explains in the Amplified Bible leaning with the entire personality and total trust and confidence in the Lord. That’s faith. Faith is leaning.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
Faith is dependence.
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
And faith is…And when you get that dependent, that’s when you need to go to Jesus for a living faith. I’m asking Him boldly…I’m, I, I suggest that all of us ask Him boldly for a huge faith…
John:
Yeah.
Martha:
…for this hour. A faith that overcomes. A faith that doesn’t falter. A faith that changes the world in your little spaces. That’s what I, I want us to have. I want that dependence to drive us to faith and relationship with Him and gazing. The secret is looking, looking to Him. And that’s exciting.
So, we pray. So, we, we pray, John, that this will be encouraging and this will be practical help and vision and endurance from Him. Endurance is the word of the hour for me.
So, in all things give thanks.
John:
Wow. Isn’t that tested?
Martha:
Yes. So, we, we agree right now that we give thanks for this time. I give thanks to You, Lord, that I’m living at this time. I bless Your name and I glorify You and ask You to be glorified in our lives in Shulamites Ministries. In all that You are doing be glorified Lord Jesus. Let the world that is dying witness You and wherever you are working. And we just bless Your name and ask you to go after people. Go after them. All the, all Your children and all Your, Your saints who are weary please, Lord, by the Holy Spirit minister. Minister through this message.
John:
Isn’t the gratitude that you’re being called to to give the thanks isn’t that a faith?
Martha:
Yes, absolutely.
John:
Isn’t that an expression of your faith?
Martha:
Yes.
John:
That you’re saying, “My eye is on You and I thank You because you are my God…
Martha:
And You’re God of this.
John:
You’re God of this. You’re the God of my beginning. God of…And it’s, it’s all I thank in faith You. So maybe I’ve never seen that really like that before that our, our thank, thank the Lord in everything is a proclamation of our faith.
Martha:
We believe over the top of all this earth that He is in control and we are utterly safe.
John:
Yes.
Martha:
Not a hair, not a hair on our head will be lost. Can you imagine?
John:
Uh uh.
Martha:
That’s illustrating an enormous salvation and, and keeping power in the middle of all of it that not a hair on our head will be missing. That is amazing. It’s says volumes. He’s over everything and He knows we are here.
John:
Sure enough.
Martha:
Oh, hallelujah. I came across this scripture today and oh, I just, my spirit just leaped with joy. It’s Romans 12:12 in the Passion translation.
Let this hope burst forth within you,
Oh, I love those words.
releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time
of trouble, but commune with God at all times.
Oh, that’s it in that short verse. And that release of joy and that continual joy I just pray for all of you listening. In Jesus name, bless you. Amen.
John:
Amen.

I fall down before Him, my heart splayed & laid open. What does all this mean, the little things, the big things. God! help me. There’s only One place for our hearts to go…& isn’t that shining through in blazing Light! It doesn’t matter if one has little or much, of anything, there’s this ‘equqlizer’ need. God did this! He’s up to something! Anyone can start a race…it’s the final run that takes total dependent endurance. It’s beyond us. Christ, our only solid footing. I thank God for this road into dependence. We’re being brought to it; & we’re not the only ones…”go after people, Lord”. That is happening! We have a part, or we wouldn’t be here. “This is your chosen race by God”…& it’s privilege…run faith, run! The day will come when that will be so clear, we don’t want to miss it! “And we’re in an anointing.” The power of His presence, the provision of His purpose. Tearful, joyful, encouragement!!!!!
