(M) When you live a life of repentance in the light; the issue is being in the light. My heart is open to the light. I may not know my heart, but I’m walking in the light so far as I…My choice, my passion, my desire is walking in the light as He is in the light. So that’s when you see the sin. If your walking in the light, you know your heart’s not right. “Ooooweee, I’m bad here.” And it’s a jewel. It’s the difference between guilt and freedom.
(Carole) That’s what, when you were saying that you weren’t innocent, what popped in my head was you were guiltless. At that moment the guilt had been washed, so there was nothing between you and the Lord, nothing.
(M) Right.
(Carole) After we talked this morning on the phone, and I got so excited about this, one of the things the Lord showed me years ago was, it’s not…We use the adage, “Seeing is believing.” But it’s not that at all. It’s, “Believing is seeing,” and because you believed in the cleansing, you saw the cleansing and you saw the glory.
(M) Yeah.
(Carole) And I see in my own life that the hindrance and that wasn’t the word that you said. The lingering, the lingering because I have a hard time with that, and it’s pride. It’s terrible, terrible, terrible pride. But the lingering is that I wait to see if there has been any change, and when I don’t see it, I go, “ppptt, well that didn’t work.”
(J) I need to go confess some more.
(Carole) And I need to go…And that’s where I spend most of my time. So is that not the key? It is believing leads to the seeing, not the other way around.
(J) That’s phenomenal.
(M) Oh, Carole, that’s just, that’s just God, right there. The day I discovered the second part, that I was cleansed, I had never heard it. Of course I never heard many sermons at that time. But the thing you confess is the thing He removes and replaces with His righteousness. And that I would experience. I live it; it was true. The sin would vanish, and the righteousness of Christ would fill the void. That’s all it took for me to be free forever of sin. God intends us to…and it takes away… if you live in that guilt that comes from unbelief, not from the failure to admit, but from unbelief. The guilt that comes from unbelief can’t be solved by the confession. It has to be solved by believing His complete solution to sin.
(J) It’s frightening because confession then becomes almost a relationship with yourself. You’re literally just…
(M) Regurgitating.
(J) Regurgitating and spinning off on yourself, and you’re not in relationship with Him. When you’re in relationship with Him, you’re in belief of Him and belief in what He’s doing, otherwise you’re just literally just belly button picking lent out of your belly button, you know, and looking at yourself and dealing with yourself. And that’s all your opinions anyway, you know?
(M) And trying to solve it by your confession and not be His provision.
(J) It’s insulting to Him.
(M) And it’s no relationship. You’re right. It’s no relationship.
(Carole) The Lord led me to this scripture, and I hadn’t really looked at it so I’m not sure how all this… Ok, 2nd Peter 2:9 says, “Whoever lacks these qualities,” and before that it talks about the qualities. Anyway I won’t go back to that. “Is blind spiritually, short sighted seeing only what is near to him and has become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins.” So my lack in having those qualities comes from the fact that I failed to believe and continue to believe. In the New American it says, “You have forgotten that you were cleansed from your old sins,” and I’m guilty of that.
(M) Ok, let me go back to 2nd Corinthians 3:16, “When one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” “We all with unveiled face.” In my digging deep in that passage I’m seeing if you have a veiled face you can’t see the glory. You can look all day long toward Him, but you will not access the glory, because the glory comes from the complete redemption of Jesus Christ. The glory follows His cross, and so if you have a veil of sin, you don’t have access to the transforming power of the glory. And that has become so clear to me. “We all with unveiled face beholding as in a glass,” it should be, “the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory just as by the Lord the Spirit.” There is nothing between you and God that keeps Him from just coming to you at any moment with something wonderful. There’s no barrier. There’s no hindrance, as you said earlier, because the only hindrance between me and God now is sin kept. There is no other, there’s no other veil.
(J) Sin believed in.
(M) Yes. Sin, yeah. Sin…the unbelief of the cleansing, because Jesus did the whole solution, the entire solution, and it’s just so simple. All of a sudden I saw that veil, and I thought, “Oh, that is so simple.” And I know people who will confess over and over again. I know people who will not look at sin because they’re terrified they will be rejected or whatever reason. I don’t know the reason. But it’s, to me, I run to that, because I know what’s on the other end is freedom. And He says the liberty of the Spirit of God. That’s the result of believing…I don’t know. It’s like, you get on the train of repentance, and it has the same stop all the time is the confession and the cleansing, and then you go on. You don’t have to stay. You don’t have to remember. You don’t have to keep your record of your wrongs or your failings or your character flaws or any of that, because you’re cleansed. You are cleansed from it and separated from it in some way that’s a mystery just by going to Him and the light. It’s tragic to me. It’s heartbreakingly horrifying to me that Christ paid so dearly for the whole solution and we take half. So I’ve got a passion and you three have got a passion for this and I’m… When Paul writes this to the Corinthians after the glory, transformed, “Therefore since we have this ministry as we have received mercy and we do not lose heart.” Then he goes on down and he says, “Because of this hope we are bold.” And I was telling Carole this morning, I have a boldness with God in my private time for His provision, and it’s so far reaching, you see, if we don’t really live in the complete redemption from our sin, which is singular, we never have boldness in prayer or boldness with people or boldness in the Spirit, or boldness to enter the Holy or Holies. It says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.” I have at times comes crawling. See, if you’re not confident, if you don’t sense the complete cleansing and openness between you and the Lord, you will not have that access. Not because you haven’t repented, but because you haven’t believed that you are cleansed. So there’s two parts. I’ll repeat it again. I woke up hearing it. There are two parts to repentance, and we only know one; that’s to confess it. The other one is to believe that He cleanses what you have confessed. He takes it out. I’m going to put it in terms of a child. He takes the sin out of you, throws it away and puts His purity in you where that sin was, and so you become strong in the place that you were weak, and pure in the place where you were unclean. And it is true. So if we live conscious of our sin, it means we believe that we have the sin. And if we are conscious of our sin, we are keeping the sin. And if we keep the sin, we cannot have full access to God, and He cannot pour out on us. We don’t understand He can only live with the holy. I wrote this in the devotional. “The flood did not change mankind. The law did not transform mankind, but now Jesus did it.” And He has done it so fully and so completely that we are able to approach God with absolute purity, because we’re forgiven up to the present moment as far as we know. Now, the character I love so much in the Bible, and he is the first… You know who it is, don’t you? He is the first one mentioned in the book of John at having a personal encounter with Jesus. Nathanael. I think his name was changed to Bartholomew later, so you can’t really follow him through very well. But he’s the one who…His brother came and said, “Come see the Messiah from Nazareth,” and he said, “Is there any good…” Cynic. “Is there any good thing ever came out of Nazareth?” And his brother said, “Come and see.” So as he came toward Jesus, Jesus said, “I saw you under the fig tree. Behold an Israelite,” and this is the true nature of an Israelite, “In whom there’s no guile.” And that means no lies, no duplicity, living in the light in utter, naked honesty.

I believe there can be a false confession of sin —I am talking of my own experience— and that’s that confession of sin is not for confession of sin. Confession of sin is meant to work out in a real wat, putting the reality of my sin UNDER the reality of the Kingdom. If I confess for confessing, it doesn’t work. Confessing my sin is a work of letting my reality (and the Bible calls it that way… my sin is REAL thing) come under a higher, more powerful, provision.
That’s the provision of the blessed Cross of Jesus, Who “takeths away the sin of the world” (the “world” it says!!). That verse is letting us see the huge, unexplainable, miracle of the Cross of Jesus.
“The whole world…” Of course, that has to be taken and worked out individually, personally… but see that Power coming out of that confession itself… “Jesus takes away the whole reality of the world, obliterating it”.
Confession, as you say, is not for confession. It is for a placement of myself, out of my reality and INTO the reality of Jesus. Confession is for a change of place. You change your reality for the reality of Jesus. And that is being washed in His cleansing blood through the Spirit.

How is it that I’ve read and re-read 2 Peter 1:9 and 2 Corinthians 3:16 and just now am hearing what He’s saying!?
So blessed that He is ever revealing His Truths.
