A Surpassing Life

(M) I’m also thinking about this, and it’s something I have really prayed about and really prayed for. Colossians 3 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things below for you are seated with Christ in the heavenlies.” And I have prayed and prayed to be able to do that, to know what that means, and to do that; to be heavenly minded. And I think this transcendence has to do with being heavenly, being taken from earthly realm to the heavenly where heaven rules, and heaven trumps, and heaven wins, and heaven is in charge. T. Austin Sparks speaks a lot, writes a lot about being heavenly, and it causes me to want to be a heavenly woman, and to know what that means.
(J) Which you are, absolutely.
(M) Really?
(J) Absolutely!
(M) Ohhhhhh…
(J) If I was going to define you, that’s how I would define you.
(M) You’re kidding. Ohhh, John.
(J) A heavenly woman?
(M) How precious.
(J) Oh, my gosh.
(Carole) A heavenly woman in a human body.
(M) Oh, gosh. Can we turn off the tape? Ohhhhh… (weeping)

And I think; I remember writing. The Holy Spirit had given me the words to say in “Adoration.” “You take care of down, and He’ll take care of up.” And that’s what surrender is. It’s going down. It’s going, it’s going low, and then God takes you up. If that’s true, I know about going low. I know how low…He wants me to go. But I think that transcendent described is that resurrection life that is untouchable by the earth. You remind me of Psalm 91. That’s Psalm 91. The secret place, maybe, I know it’s in Christ. It’s in the Person, but it’s probably in the heavens. It’s got to be in the heavens, because that is immune to every facet of the world’s chaos and mess.
(Carole) Like John said, it’s just exploding, and it’s like the Holy Spirit is taking me from one scripture to another and exploding that in a whole different light of transcendency. And I’m even thinking that Ephesians 3:10, where it says the purpose is, “that through the church, the complicated, many sided wisdom of God and all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities, principalities and powers in the heavenly sphere. This is in accordance with the terms of the eternal and timeless purpose which He has realized and carried into effect in the Person of Christ Jesus our Lord.” That that is, that transcendency is what the church is to present before the three heavens, before “the angelic rulers, the authorities, principalities and powers in the heavenly sphere.”
(M) I have a definition for transcendency now: ‘In Christ,’ in union with Christ. When you surrender, you come into union with Him, and you go soaring through whatever He gives you ‘in Him.’ It’s union. He is transcendent. And in union with Him, I become transcendent in Him.
(Carole) And Martha, before you said that, I was thinking, is the prayer that Jesus prayed for us in John 17, was He not calling, was He not praying for transcendency?
(J) I never would have put that word…
(Carole) I wouldn’t have..
(J) But that’s exactly what it was. He was saying, “As You and I are one, may they be one as We are one.” That’s transcendent.
(M) Transcendence is because His own transcendence was to walk away from situations, just vanish from situations where they both wanted to make Him king and kill him; both extremes. And it’s because He was in the Father, and when we are in Christ, we are going to live transcendently like He lived; when we see union, when we comprehend union with Christ, when we are shown union with Christ. But I’m telling you, it takes a lot of dying to get there, an awful lot of dying. It’s Phillip being in one place and then all of a sudden in another, in Acts. Yes. Acts is the transcendent life. It’s an entirely of transcendence.
(J) Wowoooooow! Wow!
(M) And I have known for some time that not only I, but we are headed for a new kind of life, something we’ve never known before. And every one of us, in one way or another has passed through the “valley of the shadow of death.” That’s the portal entry into Acts.
(Carole) I can’t transcend anything. That’s the whole, that’s what you’re saying. The ‘I.’ I have to die so that it is Him that transcends everything in and through me. It is all Him, and it’s His testimony. It’s the testimony, absolute testimony of Him. I do not have a testimony other than to die and let Him live. You are able to, and I will say He is able to impart this through you, because I have watched the reality of that transcendency take place in you. So I am able, I guess. It’s that I can see with my spiritual eyes. I am seeing and hearing with my spiritual eyes and ears, because I am watching the reality of that experience. It’s not just the Word. And it’s not jus the Word talking. It’s the Word being imparted through His life and experience. Oh, my.
(J) I feel like my blogs lately on sovereignty have been like the ching, ching, ching, ching, ching…. Going up on a rollercoaster.. ching, ching, ching, ching, ching. I’ve been knowing that I’ve been goin. I said that it was like, almost like, you know, falling down the rabbit hole and not knowing where the bottom was, but I’m realizing it’s not a rabbit hole at all going down. It was a rollercoaster going up, ching, ching, ching, ching,ching…ching…..ching….. And then you come here with transcendence and now shwoooow, showooow!…. That’s it.
(Carole) That’s true.
(J) I’m on Space Mountain right now. I mean, cheeece! I’m brained. You just launched me. You launched me off into a totally transcendent world of sovereignty. You put His face on His sovereignty for me. You affixed glory and His face on to it. You put His Personhood on His sovereignty for me. The Spirit has just ignited the whole thing, and I am seeing His amazingness, His nearness. That’s… To me, that’s the greatest gift. It’s one thing to know He’s sovereign. It’s another to know He’s transcendent, to bring Him close to my heart.
(M) He’s close to your heart because you can see Him as He is. Transcendence is seeing Him for who He is and all… not all, because we won’t know all. But, for me, it’s seeing Him in all His power and glory and majesty and dominion and goodness.
(J) All is a completely relative term. All is my brain can do and contain and understand. Thank you, and thank You, Holy Spirit for such an amazing … You expanded me. You expanded me today.
(Carole) Umhmmm.
(J) You were a catalyst to bring expansion to my spirit and to my soul and to my mind and to my heart and to my experience of God. Literally the Spirit of God used your word and now has expanded me. My, you know I don’t like this but, my tent stakes have been expanded. Yeah, my horizon. Basically, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. My horizon has been pushed further back. So now I see, “Oh, You’re there. Wow.”
