Yes, God
September 21, 2014
Episode #407
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
Special guests: Aaron
(J) “For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their yes answer in Him, Christ. For this reason we also utter the amen, so be it to God through Him in His person and by His agency to the glory of God.” (Amp. Version) So be it is like yes.
(M) What is the reference? I don’t like the Amplified.
(J) It’s II Corinthian 1:20. Well, it’s the only reason I used that version of it is it did the so be it.
(M) Uh-huh.
(J) But that is so wow. So be it. You’re literally saying, “Yes, God.” “Yes, God” to your choices in my life. I didn’t like it, but, “Yes, yes to You.” “Yes. So be it.” “So be it” is a huge, huge, huge thing. “So be it.” The weird thing is that the “So be it,” when I read that, I see the I AM. I literally see stamped on it, I AM. I AM, I AM. So, “So be it” is to say yes to His Lordship, His Godship. He is the great I AM. He is the choosing and choice. He’s the director of the entire thing, and you’re literally saying yes to the great I AM when you say “so be it,” His choices in my life. It’s stamped on it. I don’t understand it. I just see it. I see “So be it, I AM.”
(M) And I accept that you are.
(Aaron) So, Martha, everything is yes in Christ by law. It’s reality. Everything is no in Adam. It’s law. So waiting is the working out the no to work in the yes. It’s the… I never saw that. I was just in… Earlier in Romans 5 he says, For because of one man’s trespass death reigned through that man because of that man’s no. Much more were those who received the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign the law of life through the one man Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17 paraphrased) Yes. So that is the getting out of something in us to put something else in us.
(M) Here’s what you said, “Waiting does a work in us to get something out of us so that He can put something in us. Waiting does the… Waiting kills you. Waiting is death, because it’s putting to death… John said, “Effort is blasphemy,” years ago. And waiting is ceasing in every form of effort from the mind to the act, from the heart, feelings, the mind, thinking and the action of the body. Waiting is stilling all that effort, and it is effort that interferes with God. He will step back if you want to try and do it. He will let you try. That’s the terrible thing about God. He is so free. He gives such freedom. And effort quenches the Spirit. Effort kills the work of God. Effort makes me God, and it doesn’t have to be anything more than in my head, thinking. But if I cease all of that effort and all of that presumption and all that pride, then God is free to work. That’s why He said, “Don’t resist the evil.” What He didn’t say is what I’ve discovered. “You don’t resist it; I’ll take care of it. I’ll take care of the whole thing, one way or another.” If you resist the evil men do to you, you’re on your own. I learned it with my children. Anyway, my daughter was attacked by a little girl, consistently attacked. And I said, “What did you do?” She threw her shoe at Julia and Julia said, “I threw the shoe back at her.” I said, “Well, I’m helpless now.” And I got the principle that if you defend yourself, create yourself, if you fix anything, if your effort of the old man enters it, God says I have to let you wait til you get to the end of Romans 7, the futility and disaster of your effort. And then in Romans 7 you give up on that, and you enter the law of the Spirit takes you over, and you live in God. “I let you go until you’re done being god.” And then He says, “Ok, now I’ll take over, and I will solve it.” Some things it took me twenty-five years to stop trying.
(Aaron) Effort is my no to His yes. Non-resistance…
(J) Oh! Oh!
(Aaron) Non-resistance and surrender is my yes to His yes.
(M) Yes! The yes is, “You are God and I’m not.”
(J) That’s why it’s, “I AM.”
(M) There you… oh, I see. I see.
(J) That’s why it’s the I AM.
(Aaron) The non-resistance of the lamb is my yes to His yes in everything.
(M) The Lamb has no no and is not capable of having one. That’s what I saw about Jesus. He had no capacity to say no because of love. His test as a human being was, He now had as a human of the Adamic race, He could say no. He could say no, but His divine nature could not say no. And the love for the Father won for Him in Gethsemane, and that’s the meaning. That’s why we’ve given that. That’s our struggle too. Are we gonna say no by the old man, or are we gonna say yes to the Father out of love for Him. That’s why love is the crucial issue. One of my story was that you can have the yes to God all over you. Say no to Him and live outside your story, never being a participant in it while it happen to you at the same time. You can be that blind and deluded. That blind if that’s what you want. I started trying to comprehend the Lamb. I did what everybody else has done who writes about the Lamb. They talk about His attributes, and attributes are chosen, character issues. That was not it. When I got to Him, and He was revealed to me, I understood it is the nature of God. You can only do what’s in your nature, and you cannot do what’s not in your nature. That’s why God had to deal with nature, not just sin. He had to take out our nature and kill it, and impart into us in Christ as the originator, I’ll say. The seed of Christ that was born again in us is a seed of a nature, and that nature is of the Lamb. That nature if we give it a chance, that nature will ascend in us and rule.
(J) Jesus, in response to the Pharisees questions, “Who do you think you are?” And He said, “Your father, Abraham, rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day. He saw it and was glad.” And they said, “You’re not even fifty years old, and you said you’ve seen Abraham?” And He says, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I AM.” He was declaring Himself Sovereign over it all. He was… It’s like, it’s like he says, “No, I’m God. I’m determining my life.” (God) “No, I AM.” It comes back and then you say, “So be it. You are! You are. You determine it all.” I say, “Yes.” That’s why it’s I AM. It’s because you’re acknowledging He is. He has the right. He has the plan. He made you. He created you. He has every right to do anything He wants to do to you; anything He wants to do to you. And you say, “Yes, so be it. You are I AM. You are eternity. You are the beginning. You are the end. You are everything that has anything to do with me. You are I AM.” I am not. It’s an ultimate yielding to His sovereignty and His Lordship. It’s a bowing. The amen, that is the “So be it.”
(M) It’s just saying, “You are and You exist.”
(J) I want the great I AM to have His seal on my life by my “so be it.” And I think that we, through our resistance, we can thwart the plan and the benefit for us. Maybe His divine “Yes, I AM” in union with my “Amen, so be it”… I don’t know. I’m just thinking out loud. It’s like I’ve just seen a door. I haven’t opened it. I just know the name and the number on the door, but I don’t know what’s in there.
Martha,
Your podcast on the “yes” to God is spot on. I’ve struggled with that “yes” all my life…the yes to those choices I made for which a loving Heavenly Father held me accountable and the yes to His sovereign choices for my life that are designed as child training to bring me to the fullness of the measure of His Son. What peace He bestows when we finally acquiesce to His “yes” for our lives.
I’ve never told you personally, but for the past ten years you have ministered the living Jesus Christ to me through your tape ministry. Somehow, however, whenever I tried to attend one of your conferences, circumstances beyond my control prevented that. And, I might not get to ever meet on this side of heaven, but at the Judgment Seat of Christ, I will be among the many fruits that you bring to the Lord.
Much love,
Janice Ridgeway

I also “saw” the I AM in the beginning of the podcast – very clearly. Mid way through, I “saw” OBEDIENCE. I should very much like to have the privilege to enter this door with you. Love and excitement in Christ to you.
