This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #694
Now more than ever we need to know that the blessing of safety and provision is found in the kingdom, but we also need reminding that disobedience is NOT.

Martha:
The message of the month last month was about the double blessing (February 2020 Message of the Month, Living the Double Blessing). And I am going to say, like Art Katz says, “This is really good stuff. You need to go buy this” (laughs).

John:
(Laughing) Yeah, exactly.

Martha:
And it wasn’t pompous. It was his confidence in the word of God.

John:
He knew what God had said to him.

Martha:
And, and the being entitled to a double blessing is gonna… That’s the message we need right now.

John:
Um hmm.

Martha:
All… We are promised as His children not just blessing but double blessing. And it’s the tape of…

John:
February is Living, Living the Double Blessing and, and We Have an Anchor is March.

Martha:
Okay. So it’s, it’s the discovery that as, in the will of God… And this is all dependent on the will of God. It’s why your posts are so relevant, crucial, answers.

John:
Yeah, because I basically go… The next post I take, I go into Psalm 91 and I will go into the will of God. And I, I reveal qualifiers, qualifiers of Psalm 91, of there shall no evil befall you or plague or calamity come near your tent. What is my part in that? Is it just because I’m the child of God? Well, actually no. I can, I can be born again and saved and, and, and still not live in Psalm 91 reality.

Martha:
Right.

John:
I don’t get the, I don’t get the carte blanche, do whatever I want to do and be able to claim that promise for myself.

Martha:
Well it’s like, the kingdom is like our barn, where all the sheep’s food and hay and bedding were, and you were simply trying to get them into your will so that they would be safe.

John:
Exactly.

Martha:
It’s the same picture. But we run around disobedient and death and not spending the time to come down and start getting in the word and listening.

John:
Right.

Martha:
And you’re right. God gives us the choice. And the initial choice, choice of fear can be changed by, by going to Him and learning who He is this moment for us. And so it’s kind of like your sheep story. We are sheep and we run from the, the home…

John:
Um hmm.

Martha:
…God’s made for us. And every, in the kingdom is every provision.

John:
I mean, if I was going to boil it down to a sentence, I’d, this is the sentence that I can pull from here: “Protection is for the one who follows God’s will.”

Martha:
Um hmm.

John:
And protection is not found in presumption; it’s found in faith.

Martha:
And the faith is in a person, a personal person…

John:
Yeah. Absolutely.

Martha:
…who is aware of us individually and corporately. We’re in this together, but we’re also in it alone.

John:
I don’t have faith if I don’t, if I don’t know that I’m in the will of God.

Martha:
That’s true. Wow.

John:
If I, if I’m, if I’m AWOL and I’m not in, in the will of God, then I don’t have faith because I have guilt.

Martha:
Um hmm.

John:
And guilt is fear because I know that I’m not in the right place.

Martha:
That’s right.

John:
So, you, you know, you have to, to get that faith. I have to know the will of God and follow the will of God according to what He’s, He’s saying.

Martha:
Oh wow. Faith depends on our obedience.

John:
Absolutely.

Martha:
Good night.

John:
Well, if I, I don’t have the faith… I may have false faith. I may have presumption. I may have assumption. I may have all kinds of -tions but if, if I don’t, if I… If I know that I know that I’m in the will of God, I’m exactly where He wants me to be and doing what I want, what He wants me to be doing, I have utter faith in His provision, of His life, of His, of His, the names. Everything comes through. I, I, I don’t have fear. I don’t have guilt. I’m in the will of God and I can stand resolute that, that, that He will come through. I can, I can do what you did like when you were in the garden and waved off the storm. Those things can happen when you know you’re in the will of God.

Martha:
Yes, that’s true.

John:
But if you’re not…

Martha:
And they can’t be…

John:
Right.

Martha:
…if you’re not.

John:
Exactly.

Martha:
And it’s a life… I told someone this morning, “The rest of your life—” She’s in a terrible situation, sort of immovable. And so I talked to her about God’s, being in God’s will and I said, “The rest of your life, you have one question: ‘What is Your will?’ And you have to live for His will and then you’ll have everything.”

I was going to speak somewhere and I, I just had the passing thought, “Oh, maybe I need some new, something new to wear. I don’t know. Never mind.” Came to my door. Someone chose it for me. Perfectly beautiful. And I said, “Oh, oh you shouldn’t have done that.” She said, “Martha, you don’t get it. I saw that dress and God said, “This is for her.” So there is the fulfillment of “Seek first the kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” It’s, it’s a miraculous life if only we would bow our neck and our will to the will of God.

John:
Well, it says that, “Who’s the family of God? Those who are in the will; those who do the will of the Father.”

Martha:
The mother, brother. Who’s my mother…

John:
Who’s my mother, brother, sister…

Martha:
Those who do the will…

John:
Those who do the will of God.

Martha:
…of God.

John:
And so that, that… The will of God and your faith and your, your standing and they’re all, they’re all connected. I… Family…

Martha:
Um hmm. Yes.

John:
I’m in the family of God…

Martha:
Um hmm.

John:
…when I’m in the will of God.

Martha:
Oh.

John:
And then I have the faith to do…

Martha:
In the, in the family…

John:
…in the family.

Martha:
…you are there for the family.

John:
Absolutely. I, I…

Martha:
Wow.

John:
As an ambassador of the king…

Martha:
Um hmm.

John:
…I can come in, in the will of the Father with the life of the Son and I can, I can, you know, bring the power of the Spirit through. But if I’m not in the will of God, I can’t, because I’m not in the family. I’m, I’m, AWOL.

Martha:
Right. You’re outcast.

John:
Yeah, sure enough.

Martha:
But there is also a danger of mixing the flesh in with it, of knowing the will of God and doing it in the flesh.

John:
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s good.

Martha:
That’s disobedience. But that’s another whole…

John:
That’s a whole nother thing, right?

Martha:
…podcast right there. We’ll have to get on that one.

John:
Well just doing The Great Exchange, that, I go into that quite extensively about the will of God in the flesh. And you, you can’t do that. I, I talk about a guy, who, who calls himself the ordinary, radical Christian and he, he basically jumped in and did, did what he felt, what, what he felt should be done rather than finding the will of God. He’s like, “I found where God was working and then I jumped in.” Well, that’s, that’s not, that’s not the way it works.

Martha:
It’s a relationship relationship.

John:
Absolutely,

Martha:
It has to be heaven coming down, not earth going up

John:
Right. With everything.

Martha:
With everything.

John:
Um hmm.

Martha:
So the question in all this crisis is, “Who is God?” Because death is stalking and life is calling.

John:
Here’s a, here’s a sentence I, I wrote in here. “I can’t leave Christ’s will and go on my own way and expect His blessing.”

Martha:
Well, I’m… I want some quotes from your Exchanged Life.

John:
Yeah. I’m, I’m real excited about it.

Martha:
Because we’re on the verge of publishing it.

John:
Sure enough. Yeah. We’re going to…

Martha:
That’s going to be a big, big day.

John:
…put it up on Kindle and then we’re going to print it. We’re going to get both The Sovereign Touch and The Great Exchange both up and out. We’re, we’re, we’re literally right at the edge. And the Bride of Christ is coming.

Martha:
It’s, it’s, it’s being birthed.

John:
It’s so huge. It’s so huge. It’s a big baby (laughs).

Martha:
(Laughing) It really is. I about can’t bear it.

John:
Right. Exactly.

Martha:
There’s… He’s… The riches in the scripture about the Bride are just endless. I just beg for prayer that I will have the anointing, the words of the, the ear to hear Him as He wants to speak about what He’s giving me. This last trip, I feel like what He showed me was the Bridegroom. So that’s going to be part of it, too; not just the Bride but the Bridegroom.

John:
You can’t, you can’t have a bride without the bridegroom, that’s for sure.

Martha:
Well, I pray this message is a blessing to the body of Christ, brings peace and relationship and revelation. We just, we pray that, that this will be a revelation of Himself.

John:
It’s just a, kind of a clarion call of, of our dependence and our need to be in that dependence.

Martha:
Um hmm. Yes.

John:
And, and the safety in our dependence, you know. We’re not cast on our back like a, like a ewe. We’re, we’re cared for and it, but we have to be utterly dependent.

Martha:
Yes. And, John, I think pretty soon we’ll be printing Kingdom Children and Kingdom Safety.

John:
I…

Martha:
I hope to do that, too.

John:
I would love for you to do a whole kingdom book.

Martha:
I would, too.

John:
Yeah.

Martha:
I would, too.

John:
And you’ve got…

Martha:
Please God.

John:
Well, you have the, the material there.

Martha:
It’s already been…

John:
It’s already been there. And I would, I would love that.

Martha:
I would love that, too, because that was my verse from the very beginning of my walk when I didn’t have, know another Christian, born again person in the world. That was my verse: “Seek ye first the kingdom.” And there’s a whole history of some fifty years…

John:
Um umm.

Martha:
…seeking the kingdom.

John:
Power. It’s powerful.

Martha:
Well, God bless everybody and may peace, the peace that is God come on all of us.

John:
Absolutely.

So much mystery in God, & yet, His Will is where we place our foot, engage our heart. Though He makes His will known, it will be tested: pressed through, in-wrought, offered up to Him. Only then will we stand resolute, because it’s His to accomplish, defend, reveal. What has come to me through this podcast is that it’s relationship-listening-hearing-responding, relationship-obedience, relationship-experience. Real supply has to do with Life. We ARE utterly dependent. All comes from Him, all is given to Him. “I delight to fulfill your will, my God, for your living words are written upon the pages of my heart.” This is intimate, shared, delighted in together. I can’t help but think of Him as in the SOS, ‘leaping with joy over mountains, skipping in love over the hills…run with me to the higher place…we will run’. Love comes to fetch us. We have this moment, ‘this’ yes… Eternity waits, breathless for such Love. Christ in us fulfilling the Father’s Will.

  2. Oh Nancy, Douglas will be deeply missed. I can still hear his voice speaking at the conferences. He did have an incredible peace and strength as the Lord of all Peace and Strength revealed Himself through Douglas. I am grateful to have known him and Christ in him.

Thank you for the blessing, we receive it. We love you much as well! Blessing you as you walk this new phase of your journey. May the Lord of strength and peace dwell richly in you. ?

  3. Nancy says:

Oh Martha and John how this message so resonates in my spirit and heart! Finding, doing the will of the Father is an ever present indeavor! Have had much to reflect on since the passing of Douglas, who passed peacefully in his sleep to enter into his Kingdom life in Christ. In his last weeks here on earth he spoke so much of finding and relying on the Lord’s Manna for the day. The Life that is in Christ that gives all strength for the journey. So much like Israel who had to go out and pick up what they needed of the Manna for the day. Was precious to see the supply of life strength and peace he had all his days. Was such a witness of provision. May the Lord’s Manna be available in double portion for what is ahead for you both in sharing the good news of the gospel of Christ. Love you much.
