Authority and Receiving the Blinding Light
Episode #714
08/09/2020
With Martha Kilpatrick and hosted by John Enslow
This the continuation of a series of podcasts started in Episode #711
The is a pandemic but it is not Covid-19, it is rebellion. While many are cursing authority, we in the church might just need to seek the Blinding Light.
Martha:
You know what John? Your book on sovereignty…This is a chapter from your book The Sovereign Touch…
John:
These are two, yeah, two chapters you’re pulling from here.
Martha:
And in order to understand the judgment that comes on reviling you have to know that God is sovereign and He is in charge.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And if there is a authority that’s abusing, we can, we can cry out for that but we can’t take matters in our own hand.
John:
Umm.
Martha:
This is frightening because it means the progress of a man’s spiritual life is halted when reviling is present.
I have heard many people curse the various administrations of our government. I wish those involved were small in number but the mentality and actions of cursing seems to be infecting the masses.
Wow, that is true.
John:
It is isn’t it?
Martha:
At speed.
John:
Yeah, sure enough.
Martha:
It’s very, very fast taking over.
Look at the rioters, protest and protesters and even witches who are casting spells on people in government. Are they not curing our delegated authority? Just because you do not join them on a particular day, speaking of rioters, does not mean you did not curse the authority God appointed. Jesus, have mercy on us.
Remind Believers to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready for every good work, to malign no one, to be peaceable and gentle showing full consideration to everyone.
Titus 3:1-2
If we would live under that attitude on the contrast God would bless wouldn’t He, John?
John:
That’s what we’re robbing our self from. We’re robbing our self, the blessing and the experience of God and that’s why Satan’s the winner in it because you’re literally taking the blessings and we’re throwing away, we’re literally throwing them away by doing this. And God, God sets up our delegated authority in an order to bless us. And some of it doesn’t look like blessing. Some of it, you know, why is that…But it’s, it’s the truth and, and…
Martha:
We don’t even know what we miss…
John:
That’s the problem.
Martha:
…by rebellion.
John:
Right. That’s, that is the problem.
Martha:
But if we would abide by it, we would see that God would protect…
John:
Right.
Martha:
…supply, and bless.
John:
Well, you, you’re getting underneath His lordship at that point and there’s no way that you can be under His Lordship and not be blessed.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And, and these people…Again it’s not something that I can cast away and point. I’ve done it. I’ve done it. We’ve all done it.
Martha:
Yes.
John:
There’s not one of us that has not done this in different degrees. I’ve never gone out and rioted but I’ve, I’ve certainly reviled authority. I’ve certainly spoke against authority that God has placed in my life. And, and I’ve born consequences for doing that. I have literally born the consequences. It is been painful and it’s supposed to be because you’re resisting God and when you resist God, it’s painful because He’s trying to say, “Don’t eat the poison, don’t eat the poison!” and you’re like continually trying to shove it in your mouth.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
Sometimes He’s got to smack it out of your hand so that you know, “Oh, ok, well I guess I’m not supposed to eat poison.” But unfortunately there’s a lot of people ingesting it and it just seems we’re up in a…
Martha:
An epidemic of rebellion.
John:
That, that’s the true pandemic right now. It’s not, it’s not corona. Corona is not the pandemic. The pandemic is rebellion.
Martha:
And violence.
John:
And violence and reviling authority and resistance to God as God.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
That’s, that’s, that is the pandemic.
Martha:
I’m thinking of something in my life and I will tell it. I was passing a bookstore and I saw, several years ago, a biography of a president that I did not approve of. And I sneered at the book and thought, “What does he have to say?” And the Lord struck me and said, “Whether you like it or not I put him in this place as president and you will respect the office of authority.” “Yes Sir. Sorry.”
John:
Yeah, you can’t, you…I mean even, even political leaders that you don’t particularly like that are going against even our Christian values.
Martha:
And John, you wrote a post yesterday that we, we need to do a podcast about and it, because it brought tears to me and it shamed me because you talked about praying governmental leaders into Christ.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And several of us who read it went, “Oh, my goodness!”
John:
Well, I mean, you know, I, if I, if I wanted to cast down and, and, knock out a position in everybody who is evil, there would be nobody because they’re, we’re all evil.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
We’re all awful. And so I’m, I, you know, I’ve, I’ve basically talked about lets pray the blinding Light of Paul’s, you know, the Paul blinding Light.
Martha:
It’s brilliant. You refer to Paul’s…Oh, he was a criminal. He was horrible.
John:
Murderer.
Martha:
Murderer. And…
John:
And not even an active one. He was kind of a passive one who he just held the coats for someone else to do it so that he would get the benefit of them dying but didn’t have to dirty his own hands. How repulsive is that?
Martha:
Um hmm. And he was a miracle.
John:
And he was a miracle. God, God arrested him in the way.
Martha:
Yes. And what is the day that that post? Isn’t it, wasn’t it two days ago?
John:
It’s July 9. It was July 9. And the post is called Call Down Fire to Destroy Them. And it’s a, it’s, it’s really good. I, I, I needed it. I don’t write these things because I’m telling. I’m writing these things because they’re revelation for me and…
Martha:
You’re confessing.
John:
And I’m confessing them.
Martha:
Most of the time you’re confessing.
John:
And I, and I need them. I need these. This is the revelations that God has given me in how I need to walk it out.
Martha:
With Him.
John:
With Him.
Martha:
On His terms.
John:
Yes. And…
John:
It’s, it’s not like I’m pointing the finger. So, yeah, I’m, I’m real excited. Look at the Apostle Paul once Saul. He had a taste that, for blood and was systematically eradicating the church. And I give this scripture.
He even went so far as to oversee murder of those who with values he deemed counter to his worldview. This was one bad dude, a believer to the core in what he believed. But God had a different plan for this deluded, religious zealot. There would be a throw down but into a blinding Light.
And, and that’s…I, you know that…Yes, I want, I want throw downs. I want throw downs but if we could throw downs into blinding Light, wouldn’t it be better that we have people in that, those places and we, we beg the Father to bring the blinding Light of revelation…
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
…that He would save them?
Martha:
Yes.
John:
And…
Martha:
And as Christians that’s the attitude we ought to have. They’re not saved. They’re not born again or they don’t look it.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And…hmm
John:
The heart attitude, you know…You can’t support some of the things they support and be in line with God. There’s just no way.
Martha:
You know, John, I’m thinking about, and I have this thought so often, there’s nothing God shows me, teaches me, reveals to me that isn’t for others. What we write we are commissioned to feed others, feed the sheep, tend the sheep.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And so I don’t consider that it’s at all given to me for my exaltation or pleasure or any of that. It, I, it is…And th…See their prayers, the reason we need your prayers is this, what we are doing is for you.
John:
Right.
Martha:
And, and hopefully it will be a blessing for you from, from the Lord through us.
John:
Well, this is a, this is a thing. It’s not for self-garnishment because of the fact that, you know, if, if it was for that, I would just take the revelation, go live it out, and, and be rich. Be that’s not, that’s not…He’s He’s saying, “I want you to birth it out. I want you to, I want you to put it in this format and get it out there so that others are impacted by this. Because really it would be a lot easier for me just to go live this revelation. This has been a revelation and your bride revelation, these are revelations that have been developed and worked into our lives for years. and years
Martha:
And we’ve paid the price…
John:
Yes, absolutely.
Martha:
…to see it far more than we’re even hinting at.
John:
Absolutely. And, and, so you know, it, it would be easier just to go take, take the booty and run…
Martha:
Enjoy it. Um hmm.
John:
…you know. Oh, hey, I got the riches. I got the bag. Let’s go. And, but that’s not what He wanted to do. He wanted to bring it out there.
Martha:
To publish it from generation to generation. So…
John:
So you got the Sovereign Touch and then you got The Great Exchange. Both of these book are, are, they’re huge revelations.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
Dynamic.
Martha:
And solve many dilemmas of the human journey.
John:
And they solved mine.
Martha:
Um hmm. And see these are available on Kindle.
John:
Sovereign Touch is. The Great Exchange is not.
Martha:
It’s not? Ok, that’s right.
John:
Yeah. That is, that is my goal.
Martha:
And if we could ask for prayer. This is what…
John:
He said to His disciples,
The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Yeah.
Martha:
And, and we found that to be true. The workers are few. So one thing we need in prayer is the workers. We need workers.
John:
We do. We really do.
Martha:
And we have some special very precious ones and, but we need more…
John:
We do.
Martha:
…workers.
John:
We need, we need more people because, you know…Ask the lord of the harvest. This is what He said,
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.
And we need workers to go out in the harvest field.
Martha:
Into the harvest. Yes.
John:
And I mean we’ve got fruit here but, you know, fruit dies if it just sits on the vine.
Martha:
Um hmm.
John:
And…
Martha:
Well, and we’re incredibly grateful for people that read what we write and consider that it affects their life with Christ. Many people have been with us for years and years.
John:”
Right, right, right.
Martha:
And they’re just dear to us.
John:
If this current climate and temperature of our culture isn’t upping the ante or our, of the necessity and our requirement for God, I don’t know that will, you know. It’s getting worse, it’s getting worse. It’s getting bad. It’s getting awful and I feel like it’s for increase of hunger and, and necessity.
Authority and Receiving the Blinding Light – Episode #714 – Shulamite Ministries
We continue in this podcast to read from our writings which have dynamic revelation for the times we are currently living in. With cancel culture and authority gone wild, how are we to respond? There is something higher than resistance and reviling, it includes a Blinding Light.
“We’re robbing ourself, the blessing & experience of God.” For the riches of Christ…hunger deep enough, true thirst, in graced capacity? I will dig the trenches of my heart, to its hunger, its thirst, to be filled with His drenching Word. How straight-forwardly clean the Word is. An attitude, a glance of the eye, a ‘them’ not me, & I’ll have muck & mire that blocks the way. Oh God, bring to our hearts the realization of Your value of a moment, surrendered obedience in what seems like it couldn’t make a dent in all that’s before us…but God. All that was against God threw stones at Nehemiah. He said, ‘I can’t come down, to argue or defend—I’m part of a great work God is doing’. Years ago someone I knew went to China & brought back pictures of women working in fields in a labor camp. Among them were some 18 year old girls that had indentured themselves, rather than marry, to bring Christ to those in bondage. They stepped into hunger & thirst, & worked in a field. Only knowing the riches of Christ could they have done this. And, that all power & authority belong to God. (Rev.5:12) Riches & wisdom & power…belong to the Lamb.
Heart thanks for all you’ve given in this message. God always intends a flow of His Spirit…no one is to ‘take the booty & run”.
This reminds me that we are to pray for our enemies. They may not be in our face, but just on the screen and we can be tempted to scoff and condemn, letting our self-righteousness throw away the blessings He has.
The heart is wicked; who can know it? We see the things that are in the open right now but, at times (because I’m not always listening), Father is quick to remind me that, though I’m not whacking someone with a 2 X 4, or lighting a car on fire, many of the things I did in the past; things I think of, do or don’t do in the present – unseen except by Him, hurt His heart just as much, even more since He purchased me.
Maybe some are not able to be physical workers – that go out and compel the people, due to health restrictions, working from home 8 hours a day, limited association with the public, but we can all be warrior brides.
There’s never an excuse not to let Him war or intercede, through us, for those who are far from Him; that He bring His light and let His will be done.
Lastly, I must say that you both are appreciated and valued by God: for listening, working, obeying and sharing His revelations with His Church. Sometimes, I admit, it’s not easy to swallow and pride tells me I already know that or that so-and-so needs to read this; then He brings, maybe not at that moment, repentance.
An excellent podcast that has given me much to think about. Now to let Him walk, work it out in us as we wait on Him to see His glory!
